Wouldn’t it be great if you could decide to remodel your kitchen, call up a remodeler, and have the crew start work the next day? Unfortunately, life never works out so smoothly. The remodel itself could take weeks or even months to complete, but when trying to time your remodel there are also a lot of other factors to take into consideration:
- Remodel bids: You will want to gather at least a few bids from different remodeling companies to compare before choosing your contractor. It will take time to meet with each company, do a walk through, and wait for them to complete the bid.
- Scheduling with the contractor: Most quality contractors are booked out several months ahead, so you may have a wait between accepting a bid and starting on the project.
- Planning: Before the first hammer can swing, you and your remodeler must create the plans for your remodel. This may require hiring an architect. You’ll also need to work with an interior designer to pick out all of your finishes.
- Pulling permits: Your remodeling contractor will also have to pull all the necessary permits and possibly submit your home remodel plans to the city and/or your HOA.
All of these things have to occur before the remodel can even be started, so if you have a date in mind when you want your remodel to be complete, make sure you start the process early! We’d love the chance to compete for your business in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
